How to make your own Pistachio Milk:

This simple recipe will make 4 cups of pistachio milk and only takes about 3 minutes!

Ingredients:

I store my milk in a reused syrup bottle (1 pint) and the rest in a mason jar (holds up to 2 cups)

  • 1 cup of shelled pistachios (you can use salted or unsalted, I personally use salted to add some saltiness to the milk but i understand its not for everyone!)

  • 4 cups of filtered water

Equipment:

  • High-speed blender

  • Cheesecloth (or nut milk bag)

  • Large glass bottle (or several small bottles if you wish) to store finished milk

Instructions:

  1. Add pistachios and waters to a blender

  2. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes

  3. Strain using cheesecloth and squeeze all the milk out

  4. Bottle your pistachio milk and store in the fridge!

Notes:

It is often recommended to soak your pistachios overnight, which results in a less gritty consistency. If you choose to do this, just follow the instructions after draining the water the next morning.

This should last between 10-12 days in the fridge! It should be noted that the flavor will start to fade after around 10 days, but it is considered still safe to drink.

What to use Pistachio milk for?

Now that we have made our simple pistachio milk, what should we use it for?

I personally love to use pistachio milk in my matcha drinks. The flavor can be quite nutty but you can mix with regular dairy milk or water to dilute the nutty taste. You can also use this in your coffee, smoothies, with cereal or granola, or just by itself!

I hope you enjoy this delicious and simple recipe and enjoy all the health benefits pistachio milk has to offer.
